A few days ago I was treated for a bad cyclic vomiting episode at Cayuga Medical. I have to say I did not go in with very high expectations because I went in for the same diagnosis last year and felt extremely neglected by the Triage staff, spending over 8 hours in the waiting room( over and hour with an empty IV). However everything went smoothly this time. The staff were extremely kind and efficient. We were able to find a kind nurse(Angela) who hooked me up to a IV within a hour of me being there and was extremely considerate with her care. Ian a great doctor that helped get to the bottom of my situation and get me the proper medication to take with me since I’m traveling away from home. I would like to give a big shout out to these staff and a huge thanks to the ER for being so supportive!

I needed to have an x-ray for my injured shoulder on Wednesday July 1st. The technician Nariana was excellent! Along with her skills, she provided a sense of comfort and respect. In my 75 years, I have witnessed a wide range of medical care for myself and loved ones. I am pleased to say that you have a top notch member of your medical team.

2-3 nights in the ER+13 nights in the ICU + 2 nights in a normal room… I couldn’t be more grateful for all my nurses (maybe except one out of at least 30) and doctors that were involved in my case. Everyone is well trained and they all were very attentive and patient and kind…either I was very lucky (!) but this can’t be explained by luck, it’s a great team overall! They carefully evaluated my condition, diagnosed me and got me back to my health, which all still seems surreal.

got my tonsils out a couple weeks ago. the whole experience would have been a complete nightmare at my age if it weren't for the excellent staff at the hospital throughout the whole process. a couple days after surgery i experienced hemorrhaging and intense bleeding and had to go back in for triage, and i was met with care, comfort and professionalism. dr. cryer in particular demonstrates the perfect mix of laid-back and easygoing while also being serious and direct when the moment calls. all the nurses were attentive and kind. if i have to throw up a couple gallons of blood again someday, there's no other hospital i'd rather do it in. thanks y'all, keep up the good work.

I had surgery on my foot and have to wear a walking boot. This is and was to be expected. What I didn't expect was to get a bill from Cayuga Medical Equipment for $369.64 for the walking boot. This boot is not fancy by any means. Just a generic velcro straps walking boot. My insurance applied $152 towards my deductible. I feel this is unfair and extremely ridiculous pricing when if I had known that I would be charged almost $400 I would have gone online and bought the same exact boot for under $100. Shame on you Cayuga Medical Center for contracting with Cayuga Medical Equipment. This is a direct reflection of Cayuga Medical Center's care for their choice in who they are contracting with and what their patients are being charged for medical equipment. Patients do your research before your surgery and purchase your own equipment or rent your equipment from a company who cares about people and their goal is not to rip people off.
